[Home] :: [Support] :: [Email Configuration] Configuring Apple Mail in Mac OS X for LMi.netApple Mail (or just Mail for short) is a simple and excellent email reader for the Mac. Below are our instructions for setting up Apple Mail for use with your LMi.net email account: 1. Open Apple Mail. If this is the first time using the program, you will see a "New Account" window. If not, click on the File menu and chose Add Account. 2. Fill in the Account Type (POP), a description (i.e. "My LMi email"), your full name, and email address, then click Continue.
2. The incoming mail server (pop.lmi.net). Your username is your lmi.net email
address without the "@lmi.net", i.e. for frankb@lmi.net, the username is "frankb". Then
enter your password and click Continue. 3. Type in the Outgoing Mail Server (smtp.lmi.net), then click Continue. Do not check "Use Authentication". 4. In the next window click Continue, and then Done. 5. The final step is setting Mail to delete emails from the LMi server once
they've been downloaded to your computer. To do this, first click on the Mail
menu and select Preferences, then in that window click the Accounts button,
then the Advanced button. Check "Remove copy from server after retrieving a
message", and set the time interval to "Right away" or "after one week" if
you also use webmail. Close the window, click Save, and that's it! You're done.
You may wish to look at the options available to you in Preferences, and that's
where you'll make changes to your email setup in the future. |
