This tech note pertains to version 2410 of Outlook that comes with the Microsoft 365 suite. This was the current version in December 2024.

If you are using the free “Outlook for Windows” program that comes installed on many modern Windows computers, please see this post.

To add your LMi-hosted email address in Outlook 365:

  • File Menu (or use keyboard shortcut Alt-F).
  • Click the “+ Add Account” button.
  • Type in your LMi email address, and click Connect
  • You are asked to select what type of account. Choose IMAP (recommended) or POP.
  • Fill in mail.lmi.net as both incoming and outgoing mail server.
  • Use port 993 for incoming server port if using IMAP or port 995 if using POP.
  • Set encryption method for both incoming and outgoing servers to SSL/TLS.
  • “Require logon using Secure Password Authentication” should NOT be checked.
  • Click Next, and then enter your email password and click Connect, then you should be done.
